Yoshiaki Nishibayashi and co-workers at the University of Tokyo have recetnly reported in Organometallics on a chiral ruthenium catalyst that promotes a [3+3] cycloaddition reaction between a propargylic alcohol and naphthols with great ee.

Regioselective Suzuki-Miyaura

Peter Langer and co-workers at the Universitat Rostock have recently published in Synlett on a regioselective Suzuki-Miyaura reaction that selectively couples a boronic acid to a specific triflate on an aryl ring.  Their explanation had to do with the electronics.

Swerilactones E-G

Ji-Jun Chen and co-workers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences have recently published in Tetrahedron Letters on the isolation of some new swerilactones.  Swerilactone E had an inhibitory activity against the secretion of HBsAg with an IC50 of 0.22 mM.

12-Deoxyascididemin

Ronald Quinn and co-workers at Griffith University in Australia have recently published in Tetrahedron Letters on the isolation of a pyridoacridine alkaloid that had an IC50 of 77 nM against Trypanosoma brucei brucei, the protist that causes African Sleeping Sickness.   The compound was isolated from the Australian ascidian Polysyncraton echinatum.
