Yu-Dong Zhou and co-workers from the University of Mississippi have recently reported in the Journal of Natural Products on the isolation of some tetrahydrofuran containing compounds 10-hydroxyglaucanetin, annonacin, and annonacin A, which inhibited hypoxia-induced HIF-1 activation at IC50 values of 12 nM, 13 nM, and 31 nM.
