In the French research system, UMR only means “research unit” and nothing else, there are hundred of them accross France, so if you want to give the origin of a researcher, you have to quote the whole UMR number (e. g. UMR 7245 in the case of Bastien Nay). Most of time, in order to refer to something else than just a number, you can give the institution the person is working for. Here it is the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris.
