    Dear naturalproductman,

In the French research system, UMR only means “research unit” and nothing else, there are hundred of them accross France, so if you want to give the origin of a researcher, you have to quote the whole UMR number (e. g. UMR 7245 in the case of Bastien Nay). Most of time, in order to refer to something else than just a number, you can give the institution the person is working for. Here it is the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris.

    Best wishes for your blog,

    Paul
