Chaozhong Li and co-workers at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry have reported in JACS on a silver catalyzed decarboxylative fluorination.

    I was making 2-fluoro-bromofuran from bromofuroic acid, for fluorofuryl lithium generation. The bromofuroic acid decarboxylative fluorination worked even without silver (0C, water/pentane, bicarbonate, Selectfluor). The yield was poor but the obtained fluorobromofuran was very pure
