Jeremy Robertson and co-workers at the University of Oxford have reported in Organic Letters on the synthesis of NP25302 taking advantage of a TMSOTf mediated 5-endo-dig cyclization followed by a Curtius rearrangement to form the Csp2-nitrogen bond.

Karen Beattie and co-workers from the University of Melbourne have reported in Tetrahedron Letters on the isolation of anthraquinones (austrocolorone B and austrocolorin B1), and the IC50 values ranged from 10–31 μg/mL towards murine lymphoblast (P388D1) cells.

Qianqun Gu and co-workers at the Ocean University of China have reported in Tetrahedron on the isolation of some novel polyketides dubbed chloctanspirones A and B. Chloctanspirone A had an IC50 value of 9.4 micromolar against HL-60 cells.

Rossinone Synthesis

Yefeng Tang and co-workers from Tsinghua University have published in Organic Letters on the synthesis of rossinone with the key reaction being an intramolecular vinyl quinone Diels-Alder reaction. This molecule has an IC50 value of 84 nM against p-388 murine leukemia cell lines.
