Pattama Pittayakhajonwut from BIOTEC in Thailand has recently reported in Tetrahedron on the isolation of a macrocycle that possesses anti-cancer activity (sub microgram/mL IC50) and anti-malarial activity (low microgram/mL IC50).  The macrocycle was called torrubiellutin and what was interesting was that they found it from a fungus that lives on an insect.  The fungus is called:  Torrubiella luterostrata BCC 12904.
