Shuji Akai and co-workers from the University of Shizuoka have reported in ACIEE on a Meyer Schuster rearrangement that gives rise to selectively the E- or Z-alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl compound depending on whether the cationic counterion of the heteropoly acid.
