Cation-pi cyclization with platinum

Michel Gagne and co-workers at UNC have reported in ACIEE on their platinum mediated cation-pi cyclization – this paper isolates the platinum complexed to the cyclized product.  This reaction is very popular – as we know from Johnson’s observations.
