Vinyl Cyclopropanes [3+2]
Posted by naturalproductman on October 6, 2009
Thomas Pettus and co-workers at UC Santa Barbara have recently published in SYNLETT on an interesting [3+2] cycloaddition that gives rise to five membered rings. The dipolarophile, 1,1-dialkoxy-2-methylenecyclopropane (DCMP), they use in this paper is what’s interesting and the reaction procedure just requires heating it with its enone partner.
